Rules & Policies


1. Upon arrival at the venue, studio owners, managers, and/or professional competitors are required to register with the Registrar and confirm entries. Packages may be picked up on Friday night. All changes must be made Friday night. Please contact the organizer’s suite on arrival.

2.   Theater Arts and Showcase competitors are exempted from wearing numbers. All Competitors must present their 2011 NDCA or USABDA registration Cards before competition number will be issued.

3.  Competitors must check in at the designated marshaling area at least 5 heats prior to the actual heat. Any competitor who does not take the floor when called by the Master of Ceremonies will face disqualification for the competition.

4.  No  responsibility for the loss or theft of articles left in changing rooms, ballrooms, or hotel rooms can be accepted by the organizer and employees of the Carolina Classic; and, neither can the organizer of the Carolina
Classic be held liable for injury sustained by persons attending this event. Everyone attending this competition does so at his/her own risk.

5.  The organizer or Carolina Competition cannot be held liable or responsible for personal charges made at the hotel. Hotel guests will be required to guarantee payment of all personal room charges with a credit card or appropriate cash deposit upon check-in with the hotel staff.

6.   The organizer has engaged highly qualified adjudicators and scrutineers. The decision of the Chairman of Judges will be final. No judge shall be harassed or questioned about the reasons for markings.

7.   All competitors shall conduct themselves in a civil and sportsmanlike manner.

8.   Smoking is not permitted in the ballroom.

9.   All persons attending this event has, by his or her presence in the ballroom, consented to the use and release of any video or pictures or names of those spectators, staff of the Carolina Classic or contestants or persons
participating in the floor show who may appear on television or in any tapes for sale.

No video taping or filming will be allowed. The Carolina Classic has provided a professional production company to tape this event and offers copies for sale.

 REFUND POLICY: There will be NO refunds after October 14th 2011. All amateur couples must be affiliated and obtain their registration for the competition from a studio. No wholesale prices will be sent to amateurs


TEVELSION & TAPING POLICY: Because of NDCA rules, no video taping or filming will be allowed; however, a professional video production company will be on hand to video your dancing. Tapes will be made available for purchase.

persons participating in the floor show who may appear on television or
in any tapes for sale.


If any person has an objection to being video taped or the possibility of
being seen on these tapes or in any publicity trailers or other use of his or her picture, please notify the organizer in writing prior to October 7, 2011. Failure to notify will be considered as permission granted.

 


The Professional
Invitational Rising Stars

These events which include  Invitational Rising Star Professional Events consisting of American Smooth, American Rhythm, International Modern, International Latin, and Exhibition Challenge are open to all professional couples that have students in attendance at the Carolina Classic Competition.  A total of $5,000 dollars will be available
depending upon the number of entries.
Entry fee will be $50.00.
